Raphaël Varane, between glory and family
Share

World Champion and multiple Champions League winner, Raphaël Varane opens the doors to his personal world through Fred Allard’s “Vide Ton Sac” project. Far from the spotlight and the pitch, he shares the objects that tell the story of the man behind the defender, a delicate balance between career, family, and passions.
His boots from the World Cup final evoke the victorious journey of Les Bleus, while a Champions League medal recalls his achievements with Real Madrid. Beyond these triumphs, his objects reveal his intimate side: a tiny baby shoe of his daughter Anaïs, his son Rubben’s name inscribed on a display, and the perfume La Vie est Belle worn by his wife on their wedding day—all highlighting the importance of family and the love that supports him.
Raphaël also keeps traces of his childhood: a jar of Nutella, a reminder of the times he ate it to gain weight, which he still enjoys occasionally. His music headphones and a set of dice reflect his love for moments of relaxation and shared fun. The dice, in particular, have become a family favorite, embodying laughter and conviviality off the pitch.
A PIECE THAT CELEBRATES BALANCE AND EMOTION
Fred Allard transforms these objects into a unique artwork where career and personal life intersect. The sculpture reveals Raphaël Varane as he truly is: an exceptional player, discreet and elegant, but above all, a man deeply attached to his loved ones and his roots.
